There Is No Magic Diet

You may have heard about diets that claim to cure type 2 diabetes by eliminating entire food groups like meat, carbohydrates, or even by fasting.  Not only is this unnecessary, but these type of drastic changes are almost never sustainable. Those diets are a struggle to start and to continue, and they take no consideration of personal tastes and preferences. They can also be unhealthy.

Diabetics also do not need to start eating a complex diet with special foods that are expensive, hard to find, or unenjoyable. You can still eat the foods you love, and you do not need to walk away from the table hungry. You should enjoy your meals and feel full when you are finished.
